Fashion Law: Zara Ousted For Knocking Off Reformation Sweatshirt
Next up on the copyright chopping block is, believe it or not, fast fashion retailer Zara who is being accused of having designed an exact replica of Reformation’s famous $118 ‘Cindy Crawford’ sweatshirt. Both sweatshirt designs are grey with black block letters depicting famous 90’s supermodel names.
Zara’s version uses the name “Elle Macpherson”, a direct violation of right of publicity laws and possible trademark infringement if Macpherson herself didn’t approve of the retailer’s design.
