Fashion Editorial: Philipp Plein Embraces his Inner Punk
Igniting the Punk Era, German designer Philip Patrick Plein pulled in an eccentric clad of models for his SS16 Collection. Tapping rising sister and brother duo; Lucky Blue Smith and Pyper America Smith alongside Hailey Baldwin and Ajak Deng, the designer channeled a futuristic look.
The campaign was shot by Steven Klein, a high-fashion photographer who has worked with the likes of Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen and Dolce & Gabbana in the past. The campaign had the entire team adorned in leather, studs and spikes highlighting his mega product the #PleinPunk fashion.
Plein has consistently embraced his runways and collections against his imagination, featuring apocalyptic burning cars to jet-ski performances. In his recent SS16 Menswear fashion show, he had Tyga perform against a motor-cross and monster truck spectacle while Courtney Love performed at his SS15 Womenswear fashion show in Milan. Focusing on his grungy and futuristic elements of #PleinPunk, this season was nothing short of what we expected from the German designer. His signature play on light, color and atmosphere were all displayed effortlessly.by
