[NYSFW] FASHION NEWS: KIM K’S CONTROVERSIAL PAPER MAG SPREAD RELEASES SOME NEGATIVES
Two weeks ago, Kim Kardashian and Paper Magazine tried to “break the internet” with their latest Winter 2014 issue featuring the reality star’s famous derrière. In addition to the controversial cover highlighting her tiny waist and endowed hips, the rest of the issue shows some full-frontal nudity of West’s newly married bride.
Magazine photographers are known to be perpetrators of intensive Photoshop work, creating nearly impossible body expectations but this one takes the prize. Kim Kardashian’s voluptuous posterior is not how it really seems – surprise surprise! Recent findings lead us to state that Kim K’s waist is not as teeny as we see and her skin is not as summer-tan glowy as her make-up artists have made her up to be. The untouched Paper Magazine photographs show an oiled up average sized Kardashian with cellulite and dark circles intact. Kim, however, still has her patented perky rump, cheekbones to die for and immaculate eyebrows. Although it is perfectly acceptable to represent yourself as a curvy woman, it is absolutely misleading to have consumers try to aspire to a body that an owner simply does not possess.
Well it just goes to show that in social media, anything can be leaked. Perhaps it would be wise that when a magazine is trying to portray an extremely edited photograph that everyone involved in the process signs privacy contracts to prevent these untouched images to surface. And if the magazine or photographers refuse that agreement, then the model should consider taking the highway to avoid the pointy fingers. It is not all that heartbreaking though, now that the veil is lifted we still see a woman confident enough to pose in the nude in spite of the public adoration and criticism. You go, Kim K!
