FASHION NEWS: KARLIE KLOSS TEAMS UP WITH MARC FISHER FOR SCHOLARSHIP CAMPAIGN “KODE WITH KARLIE”
Karlie Kloss is the new face for Marc Fisher’s namesake brand, Marc Fisher Ltd. To celebrate his first “fully curated, namesake collection,” Kloss and Fisher join together to support her scholarship campaign “Kode with Karlie.”
The summer scholarship is offered to high-school girls across the globe who have a strong interest in learning professional software engineering tools.The 23-year old model discovered an interest in coding after a friend introduced her to a two-week course dealing with Ruby, a programming language used for many apps. After she found herself hooked on coding, Kloss partnered with The Flatiron Pre-college Academy to select 21 eligible candidates for the opportunity to take the $1500 courses that she had taken. Although Kloss admits that it was difficult to choose only 21 girls out of over 600 applicants, she feels that the foundation will help encourage young women to pursue computer science courses.
Marc Fisher aims to support the Kode with Karlie scholarship by utilizing his hashtag, #MAKEYOURMARC. The hashtag is meant to accompany stories from women who are making an impact in their communities. For every tag used in social media, Marc promises to donate $1 towards Kloss’s charity. Kloss hopes that with Marc’s campaign and their joined exposure, there will be enough money to send more students for her program next summer.by
