Jeremy Scott Debuts F/W Campaign with Devon Aoki as his Muse
Reviving the House of Moschino was no easy task and it was accomplished by creative director Jeremy Scott back in early 2013, when he first took on the role. As the designer who brought Barbie, Hello Kitty, Looney Tunes, Maccy D’s, and becoming the it-girl’s favorite go-to label to shock, individuality is what Jeremy Scott pledges to. Bringing on the likes of Miley Cyrus, Rita Ora in his beginning reign, it has definitely gave his own brand a sturdy thrust into the pop culture scene.
Jeremy Scott has just tapped into his friend bank and retrieved retired model, Devon Aoki for his namesake F/W 2016 collection. The pop-culture revivalist saw a photo of Aoki at the mere age of 13 and was instantly mesmerized. Scott states that he fought and fought to get her to do his third show in Paris. Not only has the designer familiarized himself with the country of Japan and its fashion culture during his early teen years, Aoki held such a special place in his heart. This season’s campaign is the first time that Scott has ever photographed his own brand’s ads. The campaign was photographed in the designer’s Los Angeles studio, with makeup by Kabuki and hair by Chris Appleton.
This isn’t the first time, Scott has shot Aoki – their most well known collaboration outside was the July 2007 i-D cover. Aoki also recently closed Scott’s Moschino’s Resort 17′ show in L.A., just last month. Remember to look for another Aoki cameo in Fergie’s “”M.I.L.F.$” music video alongside hot moms Kim Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen, Ciara and Amber Valletta. The mother of three has since loosened her reigns in the modeling world due to motherhood but seems as though she has not lost her touch.
