Fashion News: H&M’s next collaborative partner is LVHM-Owned Kenzo
Swedish fast fashion giant, H&M has locked in yet another, epic luxury house under its collaborative belt. French fashion house, owned by LVHM, Kenzo is H&M’s next designer collaboration with women’s, men’s, and an accessory collection to spare. This isn’t the first time H&M has planned its marketing strategies with other large fashion houses (i.e: Alexander Wang, Karl Lagerfeld, Roberto Cavalli, Versace, Isabel Marant, and Maison Martin Margiela, just to name a few.)
The exclusive collection will run 250 stores worldwide and will be available online, November 3rd. Kenzo will be joining great company especially with all the designer and style icon collaborations the Swedish giant has embarked on till date. With the lighter mark-up being featured in H&M stores worldwide, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim are quite excited to invite consumers from across the grid to experience their designs.
“Our philosophy is this,” Lim says. “We’re curious.” It’s a shared impulse—a fascination with newness, a reverence for tradition—that has united them from the start. Both students at the University of California, Berkeley, the two obsessed over clothes and food and art and music. “Even at the time, we were always trying to get to the bottom of what we loved—whether it was our favorite band or some dish we liked,” Lim remembers. “We care a lot and still care a lot about what is authentic.”
Leon and Lim will follow right behind H&M’s successful campaign with Balmain, just last year. Besides the duo isn’t afraid to take risks or new projects as they have been wildly successful with Open Ceremony and Vans in the past. “Collaborations provoke conversation, which is exciting,” Leon told Vogue.com.
We can’t wait to see what the pair cooks up!
