FASHION & STYLE: GIGI HADID PUTS ON HER FACE FOR MAYBELLINE
If girls dream of model stardom, then working models dream of contracts with major cosmetics labels. At nineteen, IMG model Gigi Hadid has become the new face of Maybelline, cementing her status as a runway and ad campaign elite. She shared the news via Instagram to her 1.5 million followers.
The fresh-faced Californian already has a showcase portfolio, which features a slot in the iconic 2015 Pirelli calendar, a recreation of Anna Wintour’s first Vogue cover and a place on Chanel’s SS 2015 show in Paris. Hadid has also appeared in campaigns for Tom Ford, Sisley and GUESS, where she began her modeling career at two years old.
“In middle school, I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup,” said Hadid, “I secretly bought Maybelline’s SuperStay 24HR concealer at CVS. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.”
According to Vogue, Hadid received her contract offer with Maybelline just before the New Year, and officially begins her role as the brand’s face today.by
