FASHION REPETITION: CHLOE SS15 VS. FAST FASHION
Going for confident wistful looks, French fashion house Chloé shows off boho vibes accompanied by military jackets in their SS15 collection. Although a little underwhelming by staying in neutral tones (“safe colors”), the collection has become a copycat favorite among fast fashion retailers notably H&M and Uterque.
It is no surprise to see an Inditex company jump onto high-fashion trends, so when Uterque released a dreamy long navy dress with a chain link neckline we turned to Chloé. The Uterque dress retails at 195 euros (approx. $225).
Another favorite is a flowy floral breast line dress that H&M picked up and turned it scarlet. Almost lacy with a nymph quality, the micro thin straps accentuate the busyness of the design though it was simple enough for a counterfeit. It is one thing to duplicate a design but another thing to premiere it for an ad campaign.
Fast fashion is quick with fervor.
