FASHION NEWS: Fashion’s “It Brit” Alexa Chung To Launch Fashion Label In 2014
British model, presenter and contributing editor to British Vogue, Alexa Chung, recently announced her plans to create her own fashion label in 2014. The 30-year-old, who recently published her first book, It, and launched her first beauty range with Eyeko, is ready to take on her own design label.
The fashionista left her presenting job at Fuse News, her first nine-to-five stint, in order to concentrate on creating her very first clothing collection stating, “This will be the first time to actually sit down and think about it. I’m going to get it off the ground hopefully in 2014.”
Chung admitted that she has yet to come up with a single idea but has no doubt that the time gained from her leaving her full-time gig at Fuse News will allow her the time needed to successfully gain momentum in order to launch the label in the coming year.
Given the young star’s stylish physique, Chung’s label certainly has the potential to become one of the more respected celebrity/designer crossovers, such as that of the Olsen twins Elizabeth and James line.
Chung says she has no current plans for the first collection however, she knows that she’d like to stray away from cats or cat motifs to differ from the likes of Miu Miu, Tabitha Simmons and Charlotte Olympia.
