FASHION WEEK: NOLCHA FASHION WEEK – “ONES TO WATCH” PREVIEW S/S 2015
Nolcha Fashion Week’s mission is to present rising independent designers every season. For their spring/summer 2015 show, they’ve compiled an “Ones to Watch” group exhibition that ranges from haute couture to active wear.
Charles & Ron
Masters of pattern design, the duo has weaved distinctive prints and interprets each design in different cuts. Emphasizing how each pattern could be imagined differently, Charles & Ron shows how multi-faceted their arrangements can be.
Using jewel tones and shimmering satin fabrics, JBURGOS mixes business chic with elegance. A pencil skirt is dressed up with a pretty blush pink and ruffled; a long-sleeve one-piece is embroidered with sequins; and a ruffle collar blouse is complemented with a skin-tight satin zip dress.
Gregory Apparel‘s designs are the epitomes of femininity. Combining coquettish pastel colors and crinkle crepe fabrics, Rachel Gregory highlights and accentuates the waist with peplum, ruffles, and cinches. Not overtly bold, the designs are graceful and the vinyl white material are used modestly.
Haute couture millinier, Dolly Donshey, creates dreamy straight out of a fairy-tale looks with impressive headgear. Donned in a mauve chiffon uniform, each model showcases pinned-feather crowns, Bjork-like ethereal veils, and even baby’s breath skull beauties. Each hat is as show stopping as the last. Finishing with a gilded butterfly floral look, Monstruoisité has craned our necks – maybe as well as her models.
