FASHION & STYLE: MICHELLE WILLIAMS FOR LOUIS VUITTON “CITY BAGS” COLLECTION
In her second time reign, Michelle Williams returns to Louis Vuitton representing it’s latest handbag campaign. Williams’ first major fashion endorsement came last Autumn/Winter for Vuitton’s 2013-2014 campaign, the appointment marked her first notable ambassador role aside from the Band of Outsiders for Spring/Summer 2012. The campaign was shot by none other than shutterbug, Peter Lindbergh, with hair by Sam McKnight and make-up by Stéphane Marais. Looking effortlessly du jour in her platinum pixie cut and lavish red lips, the actress returned to the set with a playful attitude and luminous glow. Some highlights in the campaign “City Bags” are the Lockit, the Capcucines and the Alma.
With sales increasing, there would be no reason to not have Williams reappear. Vuitton’s parent company LVMH (which also owns Céline, Loewe and Dior) reported that the first-quarter sales of clothing and leather items, such as Louis Vuitton bags, climbed nine per cent in organic growth. With an excellent start to the year along with their new artistic director, Nicolas Ghesquière, Vuitton has quite the year ahead of them.
The new ads starring Williams will break in the May 2014 issues of magazines.
