KRISTEN STEWART FOR CHANEL ‘S PRE-FALL 2014 CAMPAIGN
Back in December, Karl Lagerfeld announced that Kristen Stewart would be channeling her inner southern belle for Chanel’s new Paris-Dallas collection. After Chanel’s Western themed Métiers d’Art show in Dallas on Dec 10th, the collection was scheduled to debut in May. Luckily, we got the leaked images from the ad campaign. The photos were spontaneously leaked by an Instagram user, alias under the screen name of garcon_chanel. The images were taken down immediately, many outlets have since taken the images down, but some are still currently running.
Stewart follows in the footsteps of Keira Knightley, Blake Lively and Diane Kruger, who have all also fronted adverts for the luxury brand. The campaign was shot by Karl Lagerfeld, himself, and will be released officially next month in May. The highly-anticipated campaign features a smoldering Stewart in full-fashion flair with cornrows, bits of country and rock n’ roll and a heap of fringe with leather. Stewart pulled off the ultimate chic cowgirl, no wonder this isn’t her first wrangle in the fashion industry.
Do you remember Chanel’s controversial Texas-sized runway show that made headlines for the racially insensitive Native American headdresses in their finale looks? Elle has the scoop. Well now, the Southwest inspired pieces donned by Stewart would definitely shape a noble comeback for the French brand.
