FASHION & STYLE: CARA DELEVINGNE FRONTS MULBERRY A/W & S/S CAMPAIGN
Cara Delevingne has had quite the successful year. She walked the runways for Chanel, Valentino, Fendi, Stella McCartney, Burberry, Oscar de la Renta, Jason Wu and Victoria’s Secret. She was the face for DKNY and La Perla campaigns, while fronting numerous magazine covers internationally.
The twenty-one year old It-girl is touted as the most Googled fashion figure of 2013 in the U.K., as well as, holding the title for most blogged Tumblr model, beating out other top models such as Miranda, Kerr, Tyra Banks, Kate Moss, Adriana Lima, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo and Chanel Iman.
She is now fronting for Mulberry’s 2013 Autumn/Winter collection. Fashion photographer, Tim Walker, shot the rich campaign of the British model. Walker is known for his breathtaking imagery and aesthetics. His longtime set designer, Shona Heath, and director, Ronnie Cooke, assisted in the collaboration as well. It took place at the Shotover House in Oxfordshire, where a dreamy yet wildly romantic woodland vision was set in the manor. Cara posed against a whimsical backdrop with a bouquet of owls all around her. The fairytale was complete with flower-glazed branches, chestnut grounds and old-fashion furniture. In the Spring/Summer ’14 collection, also shot by Tim Walker – Cara flaunts an effortless feminine vibe for the new collection. Mulberry described the shoot as ‘a charming English tea party, with a Mulberry twist and some unexpected guests‘. This included a beautiful white parrot (one who made a cameo in Cara’s personal Instagram), a Parson’s Jack Russell, a Patterdale Terrier, a Great Dane, a pelican, two cockatoos, a tortoise and a little white pony.
A design for a ‘Cara’ bag is in the talks, or least, Cara herself hopes so. “There needs to be a Cara bag, Mulberry needs to call me! Also, to let me design trainers as well!“, exclaimed the gorgeous twenty-one year old. Her fellow Brit friend, Alexa Chung already has a charming satchel named after her during her reign.
