ÉTUDES STUDIO PRESENTS THEIR FIRST NYC POP-UP SHOP IN LES
Contemporary menswear continually steals the spotlight nowadays with soft but rigid aesthetics especially seen in the subtle design by Études Studio. The small studios, started in 2012, are based in Paris and Greenpoint, and have quickly trickled into the minimalistic fashion niche joining already acclaimed brands like Robert Geller, Assembly New York, and Patrik Ervell. Infamous for its many collaborations with aspiring and established artists, Études Studio is not only a progressive menswear production for it also works with brilliant conceptual photographers like Bryan Dooley, Mohamed Bourouissa, and Nicolas Hosteing to create self-published artist books.
The shop will only be open from May 21st-June 21st from 11am-9pm all month. It currently showcases the Études Studio Spring-Summer ’14 collection titled “World Talk,” which features work from digital artist, Manuel Fernández: the face behind the trippy “broken gradients” decorating the printed tees, store front, and framed pieces. Naturally their coveted Études Artist Book Series, bound by their signature blue color on canvas, is available for purchase as well as their special and latest No. 7 edition by Bourouissa. To complement the bold patterned garments and chic coffee-table staples are “Rhino” tables and metamorphic rock bookends by avant-garde furniture designers Chen Chen & Kai Williams. The tiny temporary space is furnished with neon lights of the Études logo creating a befitting finish to the combined effort of cross-promoting multiple artists, studios, and brands.
What to look forward to:
May 29th Études works together with Super Sunglasses to create three unique designs available for purchase at their pop-up shop.
