BUSINESS OF FASHION: BALLY RECRUITS CLAUDIA CIVIDINO AS CEO AMERICAS
Bally has brought in veteran executive Claudia Cividino to navigate the Swiss luxury house through an uncertain fashion landscape. While brands like Brunello Cucinelli and Roger Vivier thrive, iconic labels like Ralph Lauren and Hugo Boss struggle to meet revenue expectations, making strong leadership in the US market a major priority.
With a resume boasting illustrious names like Coach, YSL and Reed Krakoff, Cividino is fresh off her tenure as Vice President of Miu Miu. Bally CEO Frédéric de Narp intends on doubling profits in the US over the next five years, putting pressure on Cividino to deliver serious results in North America in the face of declining demand in recent power markets like China and Russia. De Narp plans to increase US revenues to 20 percent of Bally’s business, a jump from its current 10 percent. Expansion will be spearheaded by the opening of a flagship on Beverly Hills’ famed Rodeo Drive as well as locations in New York, Miami and Latin America.
“My focus will be on rebuilding the business in the Americas and elevating Bally’s profile within this key market,” said Cividino to WWD.
