Fashion News: Calvin Klein Creative Directors Exit
It’s that time again, the departure of creatives, a domino effect we’ve recognized in the past. And the two names in talk are creative directors, Italo Zucchelli & Francisco Costa exiting Calvin Klein. Costa joined the team back in 2001 from Gucci and was appointed to the women’s creative collection, right after Klein’s retirement. Zucchelli, who worked with Jil Sander in the past was delegated as the creative director of menswear in 2004. Both were successful in launching their departments to profitable margins with a keen eye on trends individually.
Calvin Klein’s CEO Steve Shiffman says, “I would like to thank Francisco and Italo for their unwavering commitment to the Calvin Klein brand and their accomplishments over the past decade. They have both contributed immensely to making Calvin Klein a global leader in the fashion industry, and they have done so with dedication, focus and creativity.”
The label will be combining or rather, unifying all its brands under one tier. A creative head has not been announced. Though there is much talk about Raf Simons (former Christian Dior creative director) joining the Calvin Klein team, from a handful of publications but has yet to be confirmed.by
